24 AIRCRAFT CARRIED 48 X 120 LB FRAGMENTATION CLUSTER BOMBS WITH 
INSTANTENOUS FUSE. OTHER NINE PLANES PROVIDED TOP COVER. 3 PLANES 
RETURNED EARLY JETTISIONED BOMBS IN CHANNEL. 3 OTHER PLANES JETTISONED 
BOMBS IN CHANNEL AS THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND FLIGHT TO JOIN. R/V NORTH 
FORELAND 1046 AT 10,000 FEET. ESCORTED BOMBERS NORTH EAST OF CALAIS 
AND HIT COAST ALONG GRAVELINES. THEN ESCORTED BOMBERS DOWN COAST WHERE 
THEY DROPPED BOMBS AT 300 FEET. 16 OF OUR PLANES DROPPED 192 FRAGMEN- 
TATION BOMBS ON TARGET AT CALAIS. PEELED OFF AT 15,000 FEET, BOMBS 
RELEASED 9,000 TO 10,000 FEET. HITS OBSERVED EAST AND ALONG COAST OF 
TARGET. 2 CLUSTERS HIT BUILDING AREA CALAIS/MARCH AIRDROME. TIME 
OVER TARGET 1055 1107. FLAK ENCOUNTERED: OVER TARGET NONE, ELSE- 
WHERE; MODERATE, INNACURATE, AND HEAVY. WEATHER OVER TARGET WAS CAVU. 
ELSEWHERE CLOUD COVER OF 5/10, BASE 3,000, TOP 5,000, VISIBILITY UN- 
LIMITED. T/D 1132.
